Data description (abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of green supply chain management on the relationship between green transformational leadership and firm reputation, as well as to assess the moderating role of individual green values on the relationship between green management supply chain and the firm’s reputation. A partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze these relationships. The sample was made up of 359 managers of large private companies in the food sector in Peru. Descriptive data were analyzed with the SPSS version 25 program. The measurement and the structural models were analyzed using SmartPLS version 3.3.9. The conclusions indicate that the effect of green transformational leadership on the reputation of the firm is significant and that green transformational leadership is an essential element in the implementation of green supply chain management. Additionally, the findings show that green supply chain management does not mediate the relationship between green transformational leadership and the firm’s reputation and that it does affect the reputation of the firm. It was also found that individual green values do affect green transformational leadership and the firm’s reputation. Finally, the study concluded that individual green values moderate the relationship between green supply chain management and the reputation of the firm.

This investigation used the Zhou et al. (2018) Green Transformational Leadership Test for Green Supply Chain Management; for individual green values, the research used the tests of Zhu et al. (2008) and Zhu et al. (2018), and used the Agyemang and Ansong (2017) test for firm reputation. These scales have been used previously in the literature and have shown great validity and reliability. The results of this research sought to be representative of the large private companies in the food sector. The measurement scales were translated from English to Spanish. Translated questionnaires were provided. The data collection process is detailed: 1. Contact by mail or telephone, with the Managers of the large companies of the Food Sector of Lima, Peru, explaining the reason
of the call, importance of their participation in the investigation for the
doctoral thesis and agree on how the questionnaire will be solved
2. If the interview was Personal or Telephone, the date and time were agreed for
conduct the interview. If the interview was by mail, the email was requested and
explained to them how they should answer the questionnaire and the use of the scales
evaluative and attitudinal, likewise they were recommended to read the instructions
carefully, before solving the questionnaire, you will also be
communicate the date of sending and returning the questionnaire.
3. Each participant was sent via email the questionnaire and informed consent.
4. Direct supervision was carried out in the collection of information, a
permanent and constant telephone follow-up with the Managers, so that
solve the questionnaire and the return of it is opportune.
5. The collection of information was carried out in two stages, the First Stage was carried out
during the second fortnight of February 2020 and the first fortnight of March 2020 and
the Second Stage was carried out during the second fortnight of June 2020 and the month
of July 2020.
