Key points arising from discussions have been compiled in 4 reports which have been used to inform the later stages of data analysis, and published as a narrative in two peer reviewed journals, co-authored by the PI, CoI and RA. Data Produced: * 4 audio recordings, 4 transcripts File name: UEL_INT Transcripts.pdf (subject to waiver) Key Informant Interviews Interviews have been used to identify a neighbourhood within Sheffield for focus of Live Projects, Design Studio Projects and Dissertations. The PI, Co-I and PDRA conducted these interviews with stakeholders that have emerged during [1] and [2] as pivotal in the set-up of a community space, a project or other network. These have been audio-recorded and transcribed. Data was used for a thematic analysis using NVivo to code according to a set of criteria (e.g. challenges & opportunities of urban planning; access to resources and facilities; transformations; wishes & desires). Data Produced: * 12 audio recordings, 12 transcripts File names: * 201810_LP_PeoplesKitchenPitsmoor_Surveys.pdf (77) * 201906_TESCO_surveys.pdf (35) Surveys These are paper-based, anonymous and have hand-written notes and comments. Here, we aimed to understand social and spatial relationships within an area. Questions included people’s knowledge and involvement in community initiatives, their participation in activities and events, as well their desires and wishes for the area. Data was used for a thematic analysis using NVivo to code, key findings have been used to inform the later stages of data analysis, and published as a narrative in two peer reviewed journals, co-authored by the PI, CoI and RA. Data Produced: * 112 hand-filled surveys in paper and digitalised Data Produced: 16 audio recordings and transcripts of in-depth interviews (subject to waiver) In-depth interviews with local residents from Burngreave The surveys were used to identify possible participants for these in-depth discussions and, conducted by Master- level students involved in Design Studio. Interviews were audio-recorded and subsequently transcribed and analysed thematically. Studio in Residence designs include 10 interim design proposals displayed at Burngreave Library and 10 final design proposals displayed at Tesco superstore. In-depth interviews and surveys informed the student design propositions for urban transformations. Student work drew on further physical and creative surveys of the areas, while their on-going work was displayed at Burngreave Library and a local Tesco superstore, where students had a chance to talk to local people about their designs. While the students own their final work, their final design propositions are shared on a data repository.
