The following four sets of data and analysis files have been uploaded. For a description of the analysis, main findings and publication details, see the file "Project overview.pdf" (also uploaded) SET 1: DATA AND ANALYSIS ON PROBABILITY WEIGHTING AND SUBJECTIVE PROBABILITIES In the zipped folder "Probability_weighting_and_subjective_probabilities_(data_and_scripts).7z": The file "Common Consequence Ladders Script.docx" contains the experimental instructions given to participants in an experiment on probability weighting The file "Fatalism Script.docx" contains the experimental instructions given to participants in an experiment on fatalism The file "Tempting Fate Script.docx" contains the experimental instructions given to participants in an experiment on tempting fate The file "CCL,TF&FT.dta" has all the data from the three experiments in STATA 13 format. All variables and codes are labeled so the file is self-explanatory. SET 2: DATA AND ANALYSIS ON A TEST OF REFERENCE-DEPENDENT UTILITY In the zipped folder "Nature's_frames_experiment_data_and_script.7z": The file "game 2 v3 safe risky" contains the experimental instructions given to participants in an experiment to test reference-dependent utility The file "esrc natures frames.dta" has all the data from the three experiments in STATA 13 format. All variables and codes are labeled so the file is self-explanatory. SET 3: DATA AND ANALYSIS ON INVESTMENT BEHAVIOUR, RISK SHARING AND SOCIAL DISTANCE In the zipped folder "Risk_pooling_experiment_data_and_script.7z": The file "instructions and procedures.pdf" describes the experimental instructions given to participants in an experiment on risk sharing and investment The file data.dta has all the data from the experiment, as well as the socio-economic characteristics of (pairs of) participants. All variables and codes are labeled so the file is self-explanatory. The file analyses.txt contains the data analysis (do file using STATA 13 saved as .txt file). SET 4: HOUSEHOLD SURVEY DATA AND QUESTIONNAIRE In the zipped folder "Household_survey_(data_and_questionnaire).7z": The file "Individual questionnaire final-Harmonised Version-for printing.pdf" contains the questionnaire administered to all experimental participants. The file "survey data file with labels.dta" contains the household survey data in STATA 13 format. All variables and codes are labeled so the file is self-explanatory. The variables identifying participants are clearly labelled, so merging with the experimental data is straightforward.
